The Basics: Accessing Your Slot Options
First, let’s take a look at where the magic happens:
- Click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner

- Then tap Institutions, which looks like a gear icon
- In the Settings window, find “Invoices” and click on it
- Search now and click on Login options
- Here you will find a list of standard options to lock your computer. You can set Face recognition And Fingerprints (with compatible devices), PIN codes, Security keys And PasswordsYou can set, change or delete all of these options.

Password: The classic choice
Don’t forget the good old password:
- Click under ‘Password’ “Add” if you haven’t set one up yet
- make a strong password and confirm it
- You can also change or delete your password here, if needed

PIN: Quick and easy
Want something simpler than a password? Try a PIN:
- Click under ‘PIN’ “Add”
- make a PIN that is easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess
- Confirm your PIN codeand you’re all set

Facial Recognition: Let Your Face Be Your Password
If your device supports Windows Hello facial recognition, here’s how to set it up:
- Under ‘Facial Recognition’, click “Set up”
- follow the on-screen instructions to scan your face
- Look directly on camera and stay quiet while it does its thing
- When you’re done, you can use your face to unlock your pc. How cool is that?

Fingerprint: Unlock with a touch
Do you have a fingerprint reader? Let’s use it:
- Under ‘Fingerprint recognition’, click on ‘Set up”
- To elect which finger you want to use
- Place your finger on the reader and pick it up when asked
- Repeat this process until your fingerprint is completely scanned
Security Key: For the extra cautious
If you have a security key, you can set it up as follows:
- Under ‘Security Key’ click “To manage”
- follow the Clues to set up your security key
- Insert the key when prompted and follow any additional instructions
The dynamic lock: your phone becomes your key
Here’s a neat trick: use your phone to automatically lock your PC.
- Scroll down to “Dynamic Lock” in the Login Options
Make sure your phone is connected to your PC via Bluetooth. If not, we will:
- Click “Bluetooth and other devices” in the left sidebar.
- Click “Add Bluetooth or other device”
- Check the PIN on both devices
- Now tap “Couple” on your phone and “Connect” on your pc

- Go back to the Login options by clicking on the arrow pointing left in the upper left corner of the screen
- Under “Dynamic Locking” check the box that says: “Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you’re away.”
Now your PC will lock itself when you walk away with your phone. How’s that for convenience?
